Eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, and working out at the Campus Rec Center are some key practices you can implement in your everyday life here on campus. Following are a few campus resources that can help you gather information and develop healthy eating and lifestyle habits (as to avoid the dreaded “freshman 15”) from the get-go: The Dining Services website is a great resource that is always accessible to students online. You can check out the Courtyard Dining Hall daily menu (which links to nutrition facts for each menu item listed) and browse the “Fresh & Healthy” tab to read about developing a healthy lifestyle and even listen to nutrition podcasts! The Campus Rec Center offers group exercise classes (Group X) to promote a fun workout environment with your peers! Ten dollars will get you access to an entire semester of Group X classes-visit their website for a rundown of the Fall 2012 schedule. Of course, eating right and working out aren’t the only aspects of healthy living that are concerns for students. A more holistic approach to well being can be explored through the Mind-Body Experiments workshop series. The first workshop offered this semester is listed below.
