UCPath Health Check Update
UCPath Forward
The Health Check is now complete. All Health Check activities have been completed, and the priority risk areas are in remedial actions stage. Those priority risk areas include:

Future State Process Design

Development of an Integrated Project Plan
On January 8, the UCPath central team presented UCPath to President Napolitano, and she provided a clear directive to greatly expedite UCPath roll-out. She asked that UCOP be deployed as a
pilot by the end of 2014. To meet this goal, the whole approach of UCPath has changed. The
central team is working intensively to architect an integrated framework upon which the integrated plan can be built. Location Program Managers will be participating in work sessions that
facilitate the completion of the framework (also referred to as “the plan for the plan”), which
should be in mid-February. At that point, the integrated work plan will be created jointly with all
location Program Managers to drive delivery of the UCPath project. The integrated work plan will
include baselines for tracking and reporting, as well as maintenance policies for keeping the plan
up to date. The goal is to have the work plan completed by the end of March, 2014.
UC San Diego UCPath Program Management Office
Radical change relative to UCPath is not exclusive to the UCPath Central PMO. UC San Diego’s
Program Management Office has undergone a major change as well. Toni Hock, the Program
Manager, has left UCSD for another opportunity.
UC San Diego’s Payroll Director, Pearl Trinidad-Charfauros, has agreed to serve as the Interim Director of the Program Management Office. Under Pearl’s direction, the Payroll Division of BFS
has delivered exceptional service to their customers for many years, while successfully operating
in a system environment that is extremely complex, challenging, and fragile.
Pearl has also been one of the lead Subject Matter Experts on the UCPath Program since its inception. She possesses both in-depth knowledge and experience with the current state of our
business processes, as well as valuable vision for our future state business processes, all of which
will contribute to the successful deployment of UCPath at UC San Diego.
The UC San Diego UCPath Blink site
continues to be the primary information source
for the latest UCPath developments.
