A 2013 CAROL SCHAEFER AWARD goes to JULISSA PENA
Julissa is a member of the Social Work Club and Phi Alpha National Honor Society. She
has participated in the Substance Abuse Conference at Ramapo and at the Elder Abuse
Conference at Bergen Community College. Julissa has interned at Bergen Family
Center and Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, and at Head Start in
Hackensack. She also volunteers at Strengthen Our Sisters shelter for homeless,
battered women and their children.
Julissa also recently received New York University's Annual Fund Fellowship Award and
will be attending NYU’s Advanced Standing Social Work Program in the fall.
