*For Post 9/11 GI Bill (only):
 Tuition and fees will be paid to the school directly by the Veterans Administration based on the percentage of
your eligibility
o You are responsible for all charges not paid by the VA, i.e., percentage of tuition/fees not covered (if
any), parking fee, fines, tickets, etc.

Room and Board charges are your responsibility if you are living on campus and must be paid for when the bill is
due. You can apply for financial aid to help cover those charges. See me for more information.
o Your (BAH Basic Housing Allowance) is paid directly to you the veteran, monthly, in arrears, i.e.,
September’s BAH would be payable on October 1, October’s BAH is payable on November 1.
o
BAH is paid for each day of the enrollment period – if the semester starts after the beginning of the
month, then you will not receive a full month BAH – again dependent upon percentage of eligibility
o
Book stipend - up to $1000 per year paid per credit at your percentage of eligibility sent to you the
veteran with your first BAH payment
**National Guard
o Must File FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
o Need a signed Commander’s Certification
o Submit Ramapo College NJ National Guard Tuition Waiver Application
New & Transfer Students: You must provide this office and Admissions Office with a (long form) copy of your DD-214
– and/or NOBE (Notice of Basic Eligibility) if in the Reserves.
Non-Matriculated Students: The VA will only pay up to a maximum of/and including 24 credits within a one year
period. After that, you must matriculate to receive further benefits.
Note: A withdrawal which causes a change in your enrollment, i.e., full time to 3/4 time, 3/4 time to ½ time, etc., may
result in an overpayment. Be sure to report all schedule changes to this office and the VA, when you self certify for
MGIB programs only at this time. (Post 9/11 GI Bill, Voc Rehab, Ch 35 for dependents and VEAP recipients do not self
certify)

courses (except in the case of an “R” grade for a course required for graduation). I understand that it is my
responsibility to report any change in schedule to the Veterans Office, and that I must submit this form
before I can be certified to the VA.
