Food Chain Poster Product Explanation Sheet Outcome: To create a food chain poster. A food chain is a diagram that tells “who eats who” within an environment. For example: seeds snail fox bird bacteria Steps: __ obtain a piece of poster paper, no larger than 25 x 30 inches __ review your notes from the Food Chain Worksheet __ review the food chain picture above (which has 5 organisms) __ create at least 5 (five) food chains examples on your poster. The organisms in each food chain must be from the same ecosystem. Examples of ecosystems are prairie, scrub, rainforest, inter-tidal (beach) and coral reef. __draw or find pictures of each member of your food chains. __label each member of the food chain as a producer, consumer or decomposer. __ make sure each of your 5 food chains include at least 4-7 organisms __ make sure one of the 5 food chains is an example from your neighborhood __ label the particular place and/or type of ecosystem of your food chains NOTE: If you want to see more examples of food chains in different places, go to the Resources section of the Who Eats Who?
