Procedure for Application for California Community College Credentials
1. Requirements
a.
California Community College Credential Application, Form C530.
A separate application and fee must be submitted for each type
of credential being requested. Form C167, provided by the Office
of Personnel Operations, must remain attached to the
application. Applications and supporting material should be
submitted to Los Angeles Community College District, Office of
Personnel Operations, 617 West Seventh Street, Los Angeles,
California 90017.
b.
Application Fee. A money order for $43.50 payable to Board-of
Governors, California Community Colleges is required. For each
additional subject requested, a $20 fee is required. Fees cannot
be returned, although the application is not completed or
denied. Personal checks are not accepted.
c.
Transcripts.
All transcripts beyond high school must be
official with the seal of the institution and/or the signature
of the registrar. High School graduation verification by letter
or copy of diploma is required if there are no college
transcripts.
d.
One Fingerprint Card (Form C382-1). Fingerprint impressions may
be obtained at the employing college, the Office of Personnel
Operations, or a law enforcement agency. All information
requested on the card must be completed. cards issued by other
agencies are not acceptable.
e.
Experience Verification.
If application is based on
occupational experience, submit an original letter on company
letterhead or notarized copy. (Experience must have been within
the past 10 years, and must include one year of recency within
the past three years). Applicants for Supervisor or Chief
Administrative Officer credentials must submit original letters
verifying teaching and/or administrative experience (two years
or more within the past four years).
f.
Temporary County Certificate, Form C419. Return both copies if
employed by the District.

3.
Registration. All credentials must be registered at the Office of
the County Superintendent of Schools. If the credential is not
registered at the time of receipt by the employee, the Office of
Personnel Operations must be notified.
4.
Additional Information. New employees needing credentials must make
an appointment with the Office of Personnel Operations, Credentials
Unit, as part of their assignment processing. Persons not employed
by the District are to contact the Credentials Section, Office of
the Chancellor, California Community Colleges, .1608 "I" Street,
Sacramento, California 95814.
5.
Subject Matter Areas. Those listed with asterisks (*) are those in
which a master's degree equivalent, or a special master's degree in
education is the only acceptable method of qualifying.
