AT- Foreign Language-Armenian-Equivalency-discipline-Approved-EPAC Agrees C. Chen-Foreign Language-Chinese-Equivalency-discipline denied-EPAC Agrees but is holding the documents to verify whether courses were taken were taught in Chinese. D. HT- Foreign Language-Japanese-discipline Denied-EPAC –Agrees E. BT- Foreign Language-Chinese-discipline Denied-EPAC –Agrees F. GH- Physical Education-eminence-Discipline Not Approved-EPAC-does not agree with the discipline-candidate approved to teach P.E. 5. Old Business: E-55 Student Grievance Procedures-msp. Social Studies disciplines- The committee review the list of disciplines identified as Social Studies disciplines. This list will be used by the Human Resource Department to identify whether an instructor meets the noncredit basic skills minimum qualifications under social studies. The following disciplines were identified: Social Sciences/Community Development & Planning/Public Services & Administration/Community Organization & Management, Women’s Studies, Anthropology, Archaeology, Ethnic Studies (Chicano Studies, Asian American Studies and Afro-American Studies), Economics, History/American Studies, Geography, Political Sciences, Sociology/Social Work Social Science Technology, Gerontology, International Studies. 6. New Business: Humanities Alternate Titles-K. Bimber distributed a list of possible disciplines that could meet the state minimum qualifications for teaching in the discipline of Humanities. K. Bimber asked the committee to meet with the Humanities instructors on their campus to obtain revisions to this list. Kathleen further explained that this list aids Human Resources when evaluating whether an instructor is qualified to teach Humanities. An instructor must have a degree in one of the listed disciplines and at least two courses in another discipline on the list in order to meet the Interdisciplinary specifications for Humanities. 7.Adjourn-the meeting adjourned at 4 PM
