Did presentation to the board about IT in our district. We are
not spending at the rate of national standard. Our spending
for IT has not gone up even though there are more computers
and smart classrooms.
Phase 2 – configuration. Still meeting with small teams. Did a
board presentation to IE committee with deployment plan.
Role out all nine colleges by module which follow the life
cycle of the student.
IE accepted proposal and now lawyers making necessary
changes to contract.
Betsy will send board
presentation to Wendy and
Jorge and we will forward to
TPPC
Investigate minimum staffing
for IT to make a
recommendation at January
meeting.
Visiting nine colleges and sharing information. Met with
classified staff mainly from student services. Had about 100
people in attendance at each campus.
First module to be rolled out will be admissions in Oct. 2014
Paul McKenna – brought up a discussion that TPPC take a
discussion on the unexpected funds that will come to LACCD
this summer from the state, and just as the board has created
minimum admin staffing for colleges based on FTE’s
(allocation model), we should request an allocation model for
IT.
6.
DTC Update
Don made the motion and Paul McKenna seconded– made a
motion that we should look at minimum staffing levels at
each campus and make a recommendation at our next
meeting
Goal for 2014 – look at standard 3c – will focus on collectively
instead of individually since all the colleges will be going
through accreditation at same time.
