Trustee Scott-Hayes called the meeting to order at 10:21 a.m.

REPORTS/RECOMMENDATIONS
LACCD Cooperative Work Experience Education Plan 2010
A document entitled “Summary of District Cooperative Education Plan and Attachment “B” Los Angeles Community College
District Cooperative Work Experience Education Plan 2010” were distributed.
Dr. Adriana Barrera introduced Ms. Renee Martinez, Vice President for Workforce Education and Economic Development,
East Los Angeles College, and Ms. Kathleen Bimber, District Academic Senate Vice President and Chair of the District
Curriculum Committee who took the leadership role in the update of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD)
Cooperative Work Education plan. Mr. David Beaulieu, President, District, Academic Senate, represented Ms. Bimber in
her absence. Dr. Barrera indicated that in the absence of a Vice Chancellor for Educational Programs a taskforce was
formed in order to update/revise the LACCD Cooperative Work Experience Education Plan. She deferred to Ms. Martinez
and Mr. Beaulieu.
Ms. Martinez discussed the documents with respect to the College responsibilities (as per Title 5); Employer responsibilities;
and Student responsibilities.
There was a discussion regarding LACCD students being allowed to enroll in institutions other than LACCD.
Motion by Trustee Field, seconded by Trustee Santiago, to recommend to the full Board approval of the LACCD
Cooperative Work Experience Education Plan 2010.
APPROVED: 3 Ayes
Follow-up
Trustee Scott-Hayes requested a breakdown of the number of enrolled students from each College that participated in the
work experience program.

Motion by Trustee Santiago, seconded by Trustee Field, to adjourn.
