12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. Committee: Kelly Candaele, Chair, Mona Field and Tina Park Trustee Candaele called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m. PUBLIC SPEAKERS None. REPORTS/RECOMMENDATIONS Review of the District’s Message to State Legislators Regarding Governor Brown’s Budget Announcement on January 10, 2013 Documents entitled “McCallum Group, Budget Update” was distributed. Mr. Patrick McCallum discussed the document with respect to Governor Brown’s proposed State budget funding for community colleges. He further discussed the major policy changes proposed by the Governor’s budget as follows: Change in census date; Unit limit to 90 semester credits; and requiring BOG fee waiver students to complete a FAFSA. There was discussion held with respect to the Board members’ advocacy trip to Sacramento on January 28, 2013 related to the Los Angeles Community College District’s message to legislators concerning the Governor’s budget allocation. NEW BUSINESS None. DISCUSSION None. SUMMARY – NEXT MEETING None. ADJOURNMENT There being no objection, the meeting was adjourned at 12:51 p.m.
