Human Anatomy and Physiology I (4) Study of seven of the eleven major organ systems as each relates to human movement and health. Three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week. REVISED: EXS 216. Human Anatomy and Physiology I (4) Study of seven of the eleven major organ systems as each relates to human movement and health. Three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week. Justification for request or degree change: The rationale for the requested prefix change from PED (current) to EXS (new) are threefold: 1) Exercise Science was a concentration under the umbrella of Physical Education (PED), now it is its own major - Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. 2) The new three letter prefix "EXS" depicts the term Exercise Science with greater specificity compared to the old prefix "PED". 3) The prefix "EXS" is very similar, if not identical, to what other NC-based Universities (i.e., ECU, UNC-CH, UNC-G) uses for their Exercise Science majors.
