To: Steering Committee, UNCW Faculty Senate From: Nathaniel Grove, Chair, Academic Standards Committee Date: September11, 2014 Re: Addition of UC Director to Academic Standards Committee Whereas, a restructuring of Academic Affairs in January of 2013 replaced the Dean of University College with a Director of University College; and Whereas, a new position, Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Undergraduate Studies, was created to oversee the Honors College, CTE and Faculty Leadership, E-­‐
TEAL, OIP, administration of University Studies, and general education assessment; and Whereas, the overlap in expertise and operational duties between the Director of University College and the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Undergraduate Studies is limited; and Whereas, the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Undergraduate Studies has been included as an ex-­‐officio member of the Academic Standards Committee; Resolved, that the Director of University College, or his/her designee, be added as a permanent, ex-­‐officio member of the Academic Standards Committee.
