Grading Procedures
Grading procedures will be based upon your dedication in the following areas:
1. Examinations
2. Homework Assignments
3. Attendance
Explanation of the Grading Procedures
1. Examinations
There will be several examinations based on the information supplied in the lectures throughout the semester. Lectures will be
provided every class period - notes should be taken. If you know in advance that an exam date is in conflict with your schedule, and
the reason behind the conflict is legitimate behind the eyes of the instructor, you may be given the opportunity to take the exam in
advance or at an alternative date and time.
2. Homework Assignments
In an effort to reinforce the subject matter learned during lectures, homework assignments will be provided throughout the course of
the semester.
3. Attendance
Because this course is lecture-intensive, there is an attendance requirement. You are allowed only two absences. Three points will be
deducted from your total cumulative points for each additional absence thereafter. If you cannot attend, a valid written excuse (i.e.,
physician’s signature) is required to be excused. If you amass  7 unexcused absences, expect an ‘F’ in the course.
Grading Criterion
1. Grades will be determined by calculating a final semester percentage.
2. The final semester percentage will be determined by summing the total number of points earned on each of the semester
examinations and laboratory session, then dividing that value by the total number of points possible.
Grading Scale (note: grades are rounded up at 0.50)
A = 92.50% to 100%
A- = 89.50% to 92.49%
B+ = 86.50% to 89.49%
B = 82.50% to 86.49%
B- = 79.50% to 82.49%
