April 5th - Day 1

2 leaves from Kirk Hall (117 Science Place) at the University of
Saskatchewan

Light breakfast (coffee, tea, muffins, pastries, and fruit) will be provided in the morning

Opening ceremony and prayers

Screening of Delta Ways Remembered and small group discussion
Lalita Bharadwaj, Lori Bradford and Nicole Paul will introduce the
film and invite reflections from elders on their deltas and the way
they are remembered.

Dinner on your own. A bus will be departing from the hotel at 5:00PM to take people to WalMart and Cabela’s, if they are interested. It will return people to the hotel at 7:30PM.

Location: University of Saskatchewan

Bus departs hotel for Diefenbaker Centre at the University of
Saskatchewan, 101 Diefenbaker Pl.
8:45AM
Bus arrives at Diefenbaker Centre – workshop will take place in
the Prairie Room
Light breakfast (coffee, tea, muffins, pastries, and fruit) will be provided in the morning

Welcome and overview for the day

Group discussion: next steps for the traveling display
Youth activity: finger weaving teaching and art at the Gabriel
Dumont Institute
10:30AM – 11:00AM
Walk to Gordon Oakes Red Bear Centre (nearby on campus – bus
will also be available for those not comfortable with walking)

Public lecture: panel on “Opportunities and Challenges for
Working with Traditional Knowledge and Science”
