We kick things off with a dinner education meeting in Houston on April 10th that will feature a presentation titled “Enterprise Software Validation Strategies to Maximize Efficiency and Effectiveness” by Craig Laubacher, Vice President of CSA Soliance, as the primary educational track. We will also hold dinner education events in Austin on May 15th and Dallas/Fort Worth on October 16th and may add a fourth meeting in the fall. Each of these events will include presentations on important industry topics such as GMP manufacturing, regulatory compliance and operational excellence as well as provide a great forum for networking with other life science professionals in your area. We hope you will join us at one of these meetings for an evening of good food and good conversation. The ISPE South Central Chapter annual golf tournament will be held in Euless, TX (between Dallas and Fort Worth) on June 14th. This event is always a great continued on page three A Message from the life science professionals, and learn more about current industry topics. president Speaking of events, the South Central Chapter held a networking reception during last year’s ISPE annual meeting in Grapevine, Texas. Thanks to everyone who attended and a special thanks to Joe Sullivan and Bill Shwaiko for helping organize the event at Uncle Buck’s Brewery & Steakhouse. I think the reception and annual meeting as a whole were both a great success. Next year’s meeting will be held in San Francisco and I encourage you to try to attend. Happy New Year ISPE South Central Chapter! I hope everyone enjoyed a warm and relaxing holiday season and is now recharged for 2012. Like most everyone, I relish spending time off with family and friends, but I’m always excited about returning to the “real world” and kicking off the New Year. This year was no different, in part because of the many interesting events we have planned for the South Central Chapter in 2012. Don’t forget that ISPE membership has a variety of benefits ready to help you in your job and career. One of the biggest is access to a wealth of information on a variety of current industry topics such as Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP), sterile manufacturing and critical utilities. These resources are available in baseline guidance documents, training programs and industry conference lectures that are written or established by volunteer experts working within the society’s communities of practice (COPs). These resources are discounted for members so be sure to take advantage of this valuable information. Please feel free to share your thoughts, comments, ideas or anything else regarding our chapter events and programs. You can reach me at joe.rettinger@csa-soliance.com. I hope to hear from you. A lot of changes are happening across ISPE and I think everyone will notice a really rejuvenated organization in 2012. While many of the changes are being led at the international level, you will see changes at the local level as well. You may have already noticed our redesigned website, updated literature and rebranding. Still to come is an increased focus on Chapters and affiliates and even cooperative Chapter and international events. Here in the South Central Chapter, we are planning a number of interesting dinner/ education events this year as well as our annual golf tournament on June 14th at the Texas Star Golf Course in Euless, Texas. You can find the full schedule on page five of this newsletter. Please make plans to attend an event in your area to enjoy some dinner, network with other Best of luck and success in 2012.
