Providing university reports to various agencies may also be a requirement. Permits, licences, security clearances, security plans or internal approvals, including ethics review, may be required prior to any procurement activity taking place. Some controlled/restricted goods, such as nuclear material, live animals and furniture must be ordered through a designated central university unit. 3 Shipping, handling and storage Include any special requirements on the purchase requisition and/or advise the responsible department/unit. Alcohol (commercial) Designated campus units named on the provincial license are responsible for ordering, dispensing and tracking use of commercial alcohol. Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Any individual possessing, accessing, examining or transferring a controlled good or technology/information must be registered, or exempt from registration. These are defined as goods, technology or information designed or modified for a military or strategic purpose. Contact Research Services for information. Purchasing Services will consult with Safety Resources as part of the procurement process. Electrical Equipment All electrical equipment must be tested or authorized for use in Saskatchewan. Purchasing Services will confirm electrical compliance of equipment and applicability of environmental handling fees, as part of the procurement process. Onsite testing and certification will be at additional cost to a department/unit wishing to proceed with the purchase of non-compliant equipment or products. Food Related Material going to United States All food related material identified under the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Bioterrorism Act must be shipped through Agriculture Stores.
