CASC advises students to take courses in a variety of disciples as applicable to a candidate’s setting, eg. World Religions, Native
Studies.

The PA389 Master of Theological Studies Capstone (1 credit hour) added to the MTS curriculum. This
will be mandatory for students beginning study after July 1, 2012, and optional for students who began
study before July 1, 2012.
October 2012
MTS students who do not intend to move to Saskatoon complete the Core Group & Committee work
requirements as follows:
1. Set up a circle of support within their congregation/community. This is to be made up of 3-4
people who will commit to meeting with the student for a total of 15 hours over 1-2 years, to talk
about what the student is learning, what they are experiencing as a student, and how they might
need support and care.
2. Volunteer to work on a congregational committee for a period of at least 1 year. Committees
such as Outreach, Education, Mission or Fellowship are good choices as they mirror College
committees. OR
Volunteer and be elected to serve as a student representative on the Board or Academic
Committee of St. Andrew’s College for 1 year.
3. At the end of the mandated time of the circle of support and the congregational committee
service, St. Andrew’s College must receive a letter that details the work done, signed by an
appropriate member of the congregation/community. This letter should be sent to the registrar.

2. MTS in Spiritual Care students are exempt from Ethics/Boundaries workshop because of the
requirement for Professional Ethics coursework.
