Banking interest rates on new loans and
deposits

Banco de Portugal publishes today in table A.10 of
the Statistical Bulletin and in BPstat, data on banking interest rates on new loans and deposits vis-àvis non-financial corporations and households, for
March 2016.
Interest rates on new loans
The new loans granted to non-financial corporations
in March registered an average interest rate of
3.10%, 35 basis point (b.p.) lower than the previous
month. The average interest rate on transactions

4.71%.
It is emphasized the fact that new loans for housing
and consumption have risen to 491 million euros
and 349 million euros, and must go back to May
2011 and December 2010 to meet higher volumes
of new operations (536 million euros and 406 million euros, respectively).
