hospitals and healthcare employers.]
Basics for Applying to Health Graduate Programs– Monday, November 9th from
6-7PM in CIS 1012 [Hear from an admissions representative from High Point University’s
health graduate programs about what it takes to get into a health graduate program.]
Writing a Powerful Personal Statement— Wednesday, November 11th from 4PM-5PM
in Morton Hall 209 [Get tips from writing experts for writing a powerful admissions essay or
personal statement for graduate school admission. Sponsored by the Career Center, Honors
College, Graduate School and the Writing Center.]
The Health Professions Leadership Program is an opportunity for students pursuing health careers to
develop an awareness of leadership traits essential to becoming successful health professionals in today’s
society. The program consists of 4 interactive workshops and a service requirement that can be completed
over the duration of the student’s enrollment at UNCW.
Learning Outcomes





Develop effective communication skills favorable for the healthcare industry
Explore decision-making processes that produce quality outcomes
Identify personal values and its' impact on future leadership roles in healthcare
Apply healthcare leadership competencies to real-world examples
Sharpen their leadership traits most advantageous for successful leaders in health care
