Nesta is the UK’s innovation foundation, an independent charity enabling people and organisations to
bring great ideas to life by providing investments and grants and mobilising research, networks and
skills.
We are looking for a passionate and driven person with a strong interest in (tech) start-ups,
entrepreneurial ecosystems, digitalisation and the digital economy to support our exciting projects.
You will especially support an international collaboration to use Big Data sources and mixed-method
research to map the activities and networks driving the development of start-up ecosystems in the UK,
Canada and US. The ultimate aim of the project is to create the largest open-source, international
data platform on high-growth entrepreneurship.
You will build relationships with key players, (accelerators, investors and universities) to help gather
online and survey data and analyse the data to understand how networks develop and grow startup
ecosystems.
You will also support setting up a new European research centre for the digital economy.
With excellent research skills and academic or professional research experience, you will be able to
demonstrate analytical skills and good written and verbal communication skills, and be a highperforming individual who can multi-task.
