DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Course requirements for all UNCW degrees include: (1) University Studies, (2) specific major requirements, and (3)
sufficient elective hours for a combined total of a minimum of 124 hours.

A “C-” or better grade is required in each course counted toward the major, and a “C” (2.00) or better average for all
courses counted toward the major is required.
NOTE:
To satisfy the Computer Competency Requirement, a student must successfully complete SPN 305 or 311 or 312.
To satisfy the Oral Communication Competency Requirement, a student must successfully complete SPN 305 or 405.
To satisfy the Applied Learning Requirement, a student must complete 6 credit hours of study abroad (at the
intermediate level or above) or 3 credit hours of internship, directed individual study, practicum, honors, or service
learning.
