Selection Process
Application submitted by April 29, 2016
(1) Application Letter (quality of the Letter)
(2) Criteria 70% (from last two semesters) – (if only one semester was
above the 70% criteria, may still be considered)
(3) Two References letters
(4) Interview (how applicant did in the interview)
Once selected for International Study Abroad, the country will be
determined based on:
 Priority given to selection process above
 1, 2 and 3rd choice of country placements
 Number of placements for each country

Clinical Exchange
 The International Student Clinical Exchange Project entails a 4-6 week
clinical placement for undergraduate nursing students at the University
of Saskatchewan in Canada.
 Reciprocal with Australia (6wks)
 Reciprocal with Finland (6 wks or 3 months) not available in 2017

Objectives of Clinical Exchanges
in addition to N450.9 course objectives
 Have an understanding of the knowledge, skills and disposition required to
be a culturally aware practitioner
 Reflect on their own and other peoples' cultural assumptions which
influence the delivery of health care services
 Be aware of other approaches to health and health care service delivery
to those of their home country
 Be aware of the intellectual knowledge traditions and approaches to
learning of the host country
 Critically examine and compare their home country health care system
with that of the host country
 Appreciation for the cultural differences and similarities of the host
countries to the home country
