Notes:
- Alignment of Amtrak Track 42 approximated from existing CADD files.
- Alignment for beginning of storage track determined by offsetting Track 42 by 14 feet.
- Low speed (15 mph) used for yard storage track design, with 12 deg. 30 min. minimum
radius of curvature and 100' minimum tangent lengths.
- Offset to existing warehouse is 10'; however, this building may be demolished as part of
the future Union Market area redevelopment.
- Offset to self storage building and associated retaining wall is 13', which is less than the
usual 16' minimum required by Amtrak, but may be acceptable in this situation. Further
refinement of the alignment may be feasible with additional data, as the Amtrak CADD
files stop short of these buildings.
