EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS
The following local businesses offer discounts to employees of Winthrop University. You must
show your Winthrop ID at these businesses. Any special instructions are listed with the business
name. The businesses listed may change or discontinue the discounts at any time with no
notice given. If you know of a business that offers a discount that is not listed or a business that
is no longer offering the discount, please notify me by email at mcginnisk@winthrop.edu.
WINTHROP UNIVERSITY
ATHLETIC EVENTS-Full time and retired employees, spouses/partners and dependents receive
free admission to all regular scheduled athletic events. Free admission to postseason
tournaments does not apply; there will be an admission charge for those events.
Employees must show your ID at the box office for free admission. Spouses/Partners of Full
time employees should obtain a Winthrop ID at Tillman Hall, Room 15 for free admission.
Part-time employees need to send an email to our Ticket Manager, Larry McLaine
(mclainel@winthrop.edu) listing names of their dependents to obtain Screamin’ Eagle cards.
These cards can be picked up at the coliseum ticket office or can be interoffice mailed to you.
These cards are only for part-time employees and their dependents.
WINTHROP PRINTING SERVICES-Winthrop Printing Services can do personal items, such as
invitations, announcements, posters, etc. For pricing information please contact x2221

HOTELS
CHOICE HOTELS INTERNATIONAL (Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion,
Mainstay Suites, Suburban, EconoLodge, Rodeway Inn) 15% discount. You must call for
reservations at 1-877-240-2929 and give the code #00211920. This is a Big South Conference
Discount.
HILTON GARDEN INN, Rock Hill location only-Winthrop University Family & Friends Discount.
Call 803-325-2800 and give code #1362870. Rate becomes $95/night. Rates are subject to
change.
WINGATE BY WYNDHAM, 760 Galleria, Rock Hill location only (803-324-9000)-When making
reservations mention that you are an employee of Winthrop University. Winthrop rate is $80 +
tax per night. Rates are subject to change.
HAMPTON INN, Rock Hill location only (803-325-1100)-When making reservations mention
that you are a Winthrop Employee, rate drops to $99 plus tax for standard room. Rates are
subject to change.
GROCERY STORES
EARTHFARE-Winthrop Wednesdays – offer 5% discount on items – you must show your
Winthrop ID. Also, Earthfare offers a “Wisdom Discount” anytime to their customers 60 years
of age or older.
PUBLIX-They do not offer an employee discount, but on Wednesdays, customers 60 years of
age or older get a 5% discount.
RESTAURANTS
Please note; the discounts listed below are only on food purchases and do not include alcohol
purchases or tips. Also, please tip from the total amount of the bill, not the discounted
amount. These businesses are offering employees of Winthrop discounts and they can be
discontinued at any time.

10% military discount, 10% police discount and a senior discount “Apple Gold Club” of 10%.
