Mission Fulfillment—Quality Assurance (the standard) and Continuous Improvement (using
the data for improvement)
The Four Parts of the Report (due in 2017): Defining Mission Fulfillment, Methodology,
Outcomes, Continuous Improvement (closing the loop). It’s basically like a research paper.
Learning is the focus of this paper.
Commissioners of NWCCU may ask how learning (mission fulfillment) is related to other
aspects of Mission Fulfillment (Research, Outreach).
The evaluation of mission fulfillment has to be qualitative and integrative at the top,
supported by a lot of quantitative metrics, data, and outcomes at the bottom of the
pyramid. You start at the top, drill down to the specific numbers, and then go back up the
pyramid to connect the dots and make a case that we are meeting our mission.
Mission fulfillment is not yes/no. It’s a question of “to what extent”, and are we going in
the right direction.
Beyond the core themes and gen ed outcomes, we need to spell out what makes us unique
(this needs to be in our definition of how we are defining quality)—written communication,
critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, global leadership, entrepreneurship.

i. What was the job description? What were the proposed outcomes or

enrollment and the strategic plan. It could also include future goals for
position and any metrics or achievement targets.
iii. What have you done to make sure you can continue to assess your processes? We
need to make sure we will have continual assessment of the effectiveness of each
process/program.
