Ms. Rose’s CLASS NEWS J W eek of: March 28 th - April 15 th THEME: Spring (W eather, Insects, and Plants) Activities: AM: *Week 1: Sponge paint umbrellas made out of cupcake holders/pipe cleaners (use blue dotters to make raindrops). *Week 2: Butterfly made out of a bag. Students will cut colorful tissue paper and put in a Ziploc baggy. Pipe cleaner as body/antennae. *Week 3: Plant “Happy Hairy” (grass). Draw happy faces on Styrofoam cup. PM: *Week 1: Students will create a rainstorm using water droppers/blue liquid watercolor and cotton balls as clouds. *Week 2: Create a Butterfly Life Cycle necklace with different noodles to represent each stage. Students will cut out leaves for necklace. *Week 3: Carrot Underground (students will cut out) with brown puffy paint as dirt. IMPORTANT DATES: **Monday, March 21- Friday, March 25- No School, Spring Break **W ednesday, April 6th- Goldfish Swim Club visits to talk about W ater Safety. **Tuesday, April 12th (AM) and Tuesday, April 26th (PM)Dream Shop visit. The children will be introduced to Japanese folk tales and musical plays. SENSORY TABLE: W ater dyed blue with rubber ducks, frogs, fish, Beans with pretend flowers, flowerpots, shovels, and bugs.
