College of DuPage and Lewis University
3+1 Bachelor of Arts Degree Program in
Criminal/Social Justice
A convenient, affordable and streamlined approach to earn the
Bachelor of Arts in Criminal/Social Justice degree.
Who can enroll in the program?
The financial advantage
• Students who have completed an Associate in Applied
Science degree in Criminal Justice and have taken the
necessary additional general education courses.
With the 3+1 program, students pay COD tuition rates for
COD coursework, and the final 36 Lewis University credit hours
are offered at a significantly reduced rate, making the goal of
continuing their education a reality for more students. This
program exemplifies COD’s mission to make education more
affordable for its students while stressing academic quality,
first-class faculty and extraordinary learning environments.
• Students who have completed an Associate in Arts degree
at COD.
• New students to COD who indicate their intent to enter the
3+1 program.
How does the program work?
• The student completes the 64 hours of coursework at COD
for an associate degree plus additional credits as identified
in the Academic Plan.
• Upon completing the AA, the student completes 21 credit
hours of additional COD courses posted at the Lewis 300
level. Courses must be from the approved “300” list in the
Academic Plan.
• The student completes 30 credit hours of Lewis Criminal/
Social Justice coursework and 6 hours of Lewis Mission
courses with Lewis faculty on the COD campus.
• Students should apply for admission to Lewis one semester
prior to enrolling in Lewis coursework.
• All classes are held at the COD Glen Ellyn campus.
• The final 36 Lewis University credit hours are offered at
a reduced rate of $440 per credit hour (for the 2011-12
school year)
