MOL - Master of Organizational Leadership
The Master of Organizational
Leadership MOL program engages
current and emerging leaders in
learning and applying leadership
theory utilizing a multidisciplinary
approach that synthesizes knowledge
from management science, social
sciences, humanities, research science,
communication arts, and Franciscan
values.
Franciscan values are a key part of
the MOL program: As a community
of learning, students work and
learn together within their cohorts
maintaining high standards of
scholarship. Community of reverence
recognizes that each MOL student
brings unique gifts to the program,
and that other students and faculty
respect and nurture those gifts into
more effective leadership behavior. As
a community of service, MOL students
are actively encouraged to seek out
opportunities to give back to their
communities while studying leadership
principles.
MOL students often design their
capstone projects with non-profit and
service organizations as a way to serve
the greater N.W. Ohio community.
MOL - Master of Organizational Leadership
The MOL program seeks to enhance in its students critical thinking, higherorder reasoning, and ethical virtue as leaders. Consistent with these goals,
leadership science is emphasized rather than the exhortations about leadership
so often found in the popular press. Principles of leadership, scientifically
developed, are the starting point for leadership studies. Their application
to real-world leadership challenges forms the core of academic work in the
program.
If your goals include performing better, going further, and making a positive
difference in your organization and community, then the pursuit of a Master of
Organizational Leadership degree is the perfect choice!

MOL Conceptual Framework
Mission:Leaders are NOT born, they EMERGE. The
MOL program will provide emerging leaders
with challenging academic experiences based in
contemporary leadership theory that will enable
emerging leaders to develop their full potential
and inspire good in their organizations and their
communities.
“‘Leadership is not a magnetic personality that can just as well be demagoguery. It is not
“making friends and influencing people” - that is
salesmanship. Leadership is the lifting of a person’s
vision to higher sights, the raising of a person’s
performance to a higher standard, the building of a
person’s personality beyond its normal limitations.”
–Peter Drucker
