KINDERGARTEN LUCKY DUCK
SHARES!
Monday – Send in the student information sheet with picture. Your student will
share this with the class and the information and picture will be diaplayed in the
classroom all week.
Tuesday – Please send in an image or object for science. Anything that can be
discussed in a scientific context is appropriate! Your student should be able to
share with the class why he/she chose the object and why it helps us understand
science. Ideas? Shells, bird nests, space shuttle, seed pods, honeycomb, snake
skins, video of pet, etc. Objects and images will be returned to you!
Wednesday – Please send in a collection of small items, numbering somewhere
between 8 and 25. Your child should NOT know how many objects are in the
collection! We will use this in our estimating jar. It is important that all items are
the same! (pennies, skittles, toothpicks, etc). Be creative!
Thursday – Please send in an item or image of something to be explored for
social studies. This could be a map, a souvenir from a special vacation, a
decoration from another culture, chopsticks, menu from a non-American
restaurant, etc. Please be sure your child helps to pick out the object and can
share something about it.
Friday - Family Share Day!! 11:30 – 11:45, 3:20 – 3:35 Parents, grandparents, and
siblings are invited to come in to help us learn about your family. (Siblings at
Bailey may not miss class to attend, per the request of the other teachers.) Do
you love to travel as a family? Cook? Play games? Watch movies? We have
seen power point presentations (with lots of pictures!), poster presentations,
cultural clothing, chopsticks, games, and more. Please check with me for ideas if
you are unsure!
IF YOU NEED YOUR FAMILY SHARE ON A DIFFERENT DAY, I am glad to help switch
the day. I know family and work schedules can be difficult to manage, so I like to
be flexible to ensure we get your family here.
Thank you for helping to make this week special for your child. Being Lucky Duck
helps build confidence and self-esteem while practicing oral communication
skills. Students also benefit by gaining an appreciation for how we are the same
or different. It is my sincere hope that your child feels special throughout the
week and enjoys their experience. If you have any questions, please email me
and I will get back to you right away.
Thank you!! Sincerely,
Mrs. Robinson
