Unit: Winter: weather, clothing, hibernation
AM Activities:
Little cloud activity. Use cotton balls and white paint to paint a picture
after reading “Little Cloud”.
“Under My Hat” after reading the story; decorate our winter hats.
Learn about hibernating bears. Add some bears to a cave. This activity has
lots of coloring, some cutting and gluing.

Dramatic Play:
Crumple paper into snow balls, throw it at a snowman on the wall. Slide on
the rug with plastic bags on our feet. Skating inside!
Winter clothing; mittens, scarves, boots. Dress for the cold!
Key Vocabulary:

weather, environmental changes
PM Activities:
“Five Little Snowmen.” We will draw and add features to own snowmen in
our snowmen book.
Read: “The Snowy Day”. Color Peter and add him to a snowy scene with
puffy paint. Peter draws designs in the snow.
Clothing Book: trace words and color clothing items
Read: “The Hat” add “sock-hat” to the hedgehog from the story.
Hibernate/migrate/stay active activity.
