The Business Anthropology Certificate is designed primarily for individuals seeking — or already in the
midst of — careers within fields where cultural diversity is standard to the industry, including business
administration, community and social services occupations, and market research. The certificate program
may increase the marketability for those interested in cross-cultural and international work environments
by sharpening interpersonal and critical-thinking skill-sets. The four classes cover a broad range of business
and cultural anthropology topics and methods, and emphasize a practical and interdisciplinary, approach.

The Residential Child Care program at College of DuPage prepares you for entry-level positions
as counselors and case managers for children with emotional problems. Individuals in this field
work with children, as well as their teachers, social workers, psychologists and other therapists,
to develop and implement successful treatment plans. Students in the program study
interpersonal and group dynamics, residential child care, contemporary treatment approaches,
behavior modification, cross-cultural communication, addictions, ethics in counseling, family
education and treatment models, advocacy, and the dynamics of child abuse.

Corrections counselors work with corrections facilities, law enforcement, courts, institutions and
the overall criminal justice system to provide behavioral modification and cognitive training
treatment for adult and juvenile offenders. In this program, you will study contemporary
treatment approaches, behavior modification, cross-cultural communications, addictions, ethics in
counseling, family education and treatment, as well as the criminal and juvenile justice systems.

This certificate gives you the content and clinical skills to meet the standards of the
Central/Sterile Processing Distribution Technician in the surgical technology profession. During
this one-semester program, you will learn basic fundamentals of central/sterile processing;
services and distribution of hospital instrumentation, supplies and equipment; as well as didactic
instruction and clinical practice in aseptic techniques, patient care concepts, and theories and
practice of central/sterile processing departments. Successful completion makes you eligible to sit
for the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM)
National Certifying Examination.
