Summary: 94% of faculty respondents expressed some level of support for large-­‐scale renewable energy; 5% were neutral; 1% of expressed opposition. Summary: 70% of faculty respondents thought the proposed solar arrays would have a positive impact on the visual appeal of the UM campus; 22.5% thought such a project wouldn’t affect the visual appeal of UM’s campus; 7.5% thought such a project would have a negative impact. Very positively: 66 people (33%) Positively: 49 people (24%) Somewhat positively: 26 people (13%) Not negatively or positively: 45 people (22.5%) Somewhat negatively: 11 people (5.5%) Negatively: 3 people (1.5%) Very negatively: 1 person (0.5%) Total: 201 Question 3: How do you think these new structures in parking lots would impact the visual appeal of campus as it relates to attracting new students, faculty, and staff? Summary: 82.5% of faculty respondents thought the proposed solar arrays would have a positive impact of the visual appeal of campus for incoming students, faculty, and staff; 12% thought such a project would have no impact; 5.5% thought it would have a negative impact; Very positively: 69 people (34.5%) Positively: 58 people (29%) Somewhat positively: 39 people (19.5%) Not negatively or positively: 24 people (12%) Somewhat negatively: 8 people (4%) Negatively: 2 people (1%) Very negatively: 1 person (0.5%) Total: 201 Question 4: The type of project that has been described above could necessitate the removal of some trees in parking lots where the solar panel covered parking structures would be built. In consideration of this possibility, please indicate your level of support for such a project: Summary: 71% of faculty respondents indicated that they would support this project if it were to require the removal of some trees; 7% were neutral; 22% indicated that they would oppose a project requiring tree-­‐removal.
