List two things about the course content, materials or design that were effective for
your learning, or make constructive suggestions for improvement.
The basic concept of the course is very good. Maybe, however logarithms are
not as importaint as math I can use for my finance.
great course
As a general requirement, many students do not enjoy having to take this class.
I suggest making this class more useful by concentrating on mathematics that will
be found on the GRE or other entrance exams that require math.
i loved that there was a class website that contained reviews for exams and for
the finals. Also, the quizzes and exams were very well-written and never
contained problems that we didn't learn about.
Group project was a waste of time. Practical math should be tleft to the other
departments
the reviews posted on-line helped me prepare for the exams alot. the text book
was a little unorganized and hard to follow
The book was clear and easy to understand. The course was organized in a
logical manner that was easy to follow along with.
This class provided detailed step by step solutions to the problems. The teacher
created an atmosphere that allowed questions and instruction to answer those
questions in a comfortable enviroment.
Great text book. I also found the group project to help in my understanding of
the material.
By only grading tests and not homework, she allowed us to really figure things

out before we were graded on them. The final emphasized one section over all
the others and of course it was the more difficult one.
The textbook was easy to use and explained concepts clearly. The Lectures
were relevant to the learning expected, and Jennifer did a great job of making
the content interesting and understandable. She was not intimidating, which is
good since to many people, math is. It would be helpful if points were given for
homework.
I hate math but she did her best to help me understand the material.
I think that this teacher has great potential to at becoming a great professor...if
that's what she's doing. She really knows her math. The class was just a little
boring, though.
Material were very effective, the book was so great.

great instructor
Jen was so great. She was always available for consultation, and she always
wanted us to know that she was available and supportive. She graded
everything very quickly so that we would be updated on our grades. she was
great. She also did many examples of many types of problems in order to
prepare us for the exams and the final.
Guajardo was a great teacher. She was very effective at instructing non math
students in math. She was very easy to understand.
Jen is great! She did everything she could to help us succeed in this class. Two
things were 1.) the reviews she would give us before each class and 2.) Her
willingness to spend as much time as needed so that everyone understood.
Thanks Jen!
teacher was always available and offering to help with the material. teacher took
time in class to answer all questions and was very patient for people who are
less adept in math.
Jen was absolutely a natural when it comes to teaching. She is not only
approachable but highly knowlegeable when it comes to math and how to
communicate it effectively.
I appreciated that the teacher made a few mistakes while writing on the chalk
board. This set the tone to be able to ask questions at any time without fear of
sounding stupid. Jen also was available for office help at all times of the week
and responded quickly and efficiently to all emails and questions.
Extremely helpful. Truly wanted us all to do well and to understand the content.
She really explained things clearly. She never made you feel stupid for not
getting it.
She is very knowledgable in math concepts and can explain concepts to those
who don't have a strong background in math, in a way that we can understand
them. She is willing to answer everyones questions without making them feel
stupid. To improve, she could be more assertive to shut up know-it-all students

who ast questions just to hear their own voice and sound smart or try to be
smarter that the teacher. It was a great class, Jen is awesome, I hope she
teaches for a long time.
She talked really fast but I understood we had alot to cover. She did a great job
though.
The instructor was very knowledgable and very friendly. Always willing to explain
in further details and help the students succeed in their studies.
There were times that though the instructor showed all of the work she did not
explain mathmatically what we were doing. At times this would have helped with
comprehension of the processes which she taught well
Jennifer L. Guajardo is the best math teacher I have ever had. She will help with
every question, and teach to each student the way they learn best. Her office
hours are extrordanry, and she is very approchable.
The instructor was always willing to do what was necessary to help students
understand the material and never lost patience.
