Make sure both the projector and the needed audio/video device (Computer, VCR, DVD, etc.) are turned ON. 2. Use the corresponding INPUT button on the projector’s remote to activate the audio/video input line for the device. Computers, laptops, and document cameras are activated by using the COMPUTER button on the projector remote. VCR and DVD players are activated by pressing the VIDEO button on the projector remote. This room may be equi pped with a VGA Switch that requires additional input selection to display the device through the projector. A detailed explanation of how to operate each device is given in the following sections of the manual. Input Buttons INPUT CONFIGURATION: Projector Remote 2 PROJECTOR Computer 1 - VGA Switch Projector Controlled Audio System All audio in the Projector Controlled Audio System is adjusted directly through the volume button on the projector’s remote. Additionally, the remote‘s AV Mute button can be used to silence the audio and simultaneously black the screen. AV Mute Button Windows System Volume Volume Button Note: When the computer is used for audio, sound is also controlled via the Windows System Volume. This may also need to be adjusted to reach the desired volume. 3 AUDIO SYSTEM Projector Remote Samsung 900DXR Document Camera 1.) Make sure the document camera and the projector are turned ON. 2.) Use the COMPUTER input buttons on the projector’s remote to select the VGA Switch as the video source. 3.) Use the button labeled Document Camera on the VGA switch to select the document camera as the video source. POWER Use this to turn the power on or off. MODE Use this to select the desired resolution for the video output device (PC monitor, projector) connected to this product. FREEZE Use this to freeze the image. AWC Use this to control the color automatically. INT/EXT Use this to select internal or external image. INT: To view the image on this product. EXT: To view the VGA output from another device, such as a PC monitor or a projector by connecting it to this product. ZOOM Use this to control the size of an object projected on the screen. APERTURE Use this to control the sharpness of the output image. LAMP Use this to turn the upper lamp or light box on or off. ROTATE Use this to rotate the output image. IRIS Use this to control the brightness of the image by using the iris. AF Use this to adjust the autofocus automatically. 4 DOCUMENT CAMERA To use the document camera: Windows Media DVD Player While this room is not equi pped with a dedicated DVD player, DVDs can be played through the PC’s DVD drive. To play a DVD: 1.) Make sure the PC, projector, and receiver are turned ON. 2.) Use the COMPUTER input button on the projector remote and press the button labeled COMPUTER on the VGA Switch to select the computer as the audio/video source. 3.) Insert your DVD into the PC’s DVD drive. 4.) If video playback software does not automatically open, launch Windows Media Player from the application menu. 5.) To play media in fullscreen mode, press ALT + ENTER or click on the fullscreen toggle in the bottom right corner of the window. To exit fullscreen mode, press ESC. 5 DVD Fullscreen Toggle HP Computer To use the computer: 1.) LOGON to the computer using your UWSP username and password. 2.) To display the computer’s screen on the projector, turn the projector on using the POWER button on the remote. Then press the corresponding input button on the projector remote to choose the VGA Switch as the video source (see the “PROJECTOR” page). Then, use the COMPUTER button on the VGA Switch to select the computer as the audio/video source. Unlocking a computer: If the PC’s screen indicates that it has been locked by another user, you can unlock the system by restarting it. To restart a locked computer: 1.) Press and hold the POWER button on the computer until it shuts down (typically, you will need to hold the button for 5 to 10 seconds before the sequence will begin). 2.) Press the POWER button again to restart the PC. When the login screen appears, enter your UWSP username and password. NOTE: Please remember to logoff the computer when finished. After 60 minutes of inactivity, classroom computers will automatically lock, preventing 6 COMPUTER subsequent users from logging on. Plug the VGA cable into the VGA port on your laptop and, if available, plug the 1/8” stereo cable into your laptop’s headphone jack. If your laptop does not have a VGA port, contact Tech Support for further assistance. Also, some laptops require proper configuration to utilize an external display. To configure your laptop accordingly, please refer to the instructions provided by your manufacturer. 2.) Use the COMPUTER input button on the projector’s remote and the button labeled LAPTOP button on the VGA Switch to select the laptop as the audio/video source. Connecting to the Internet: Many classrooms are equi pped with an Ethernet cable allowing for wired internet access. It is advisable to use a wired connection whenever possible. VGA Cable 7 LA PTO P Wireless internet connections are also available in most classrooms.
