Honoring family with an enduring legacy
Ms. Nancy Hargrave Nagle-Bolio has been an
ardent and steadfast supporter of the Paul D. Camp
Community College Foundation for many years.
Nancy made providing access to higher education
for students a priority during her service on the
Foundation Board.
Born and raised on the Hedgepeth-Hargrave
family farm near Ivor and Wakefield, Virginia, Nancy knows first-hand
the importance of higher education in a rural community. She has been
a long-time believer in the community college system and is one of
the charter members of the Paul D. Camp Community College Legacy
Society. In 2006, she was honored as Paul D. Camp Community College’s
first recipient of the Chancellor’s Leadership in Philanthropy Award.
In 1998, Nancy designated a deferred gift to the Paul D. Camp
Community College Foundation. Upon her passing, the college will

Community Legacies
For many centuries, those who seek a better tomorrow have created
charitable legacies in their estate plans. Individuals can make an impact on
their local community with a legacy gift to their regional community college.

Shape the future of your local community by giving to
your community college foundation.
Have you ever stopped to think about your legacy?
All of us will have one. And you do not have to be rich for your
legacy to bring you satisfaction, right here and now.
A Bequest – A future gift at no cost now
A bequest for the community college foundation in your will can
ensure that you give beyond your lifetime.
Bequests are the most common way to create a legacy. Your attorney
can help you frame your bequest for the community college (as a specific
amount, or a percentage of your estate, for example). Your bequest is
subject to change by you at any time.
A Codicil – An easy way to create your Legacy

initiatives.
• Your bequest restricted to endowment will provide perpetual income for unforeseen future needs,
• Your designated bequest will support whatever part of the life of
the college is most meaningful to you. Designated bequests can be
either for endowment or subject to expenditure.

people) will apply to any accounts inherited by family.
These taxes make the accounts worth less to your family than to the

To avoid these taxes and create a legacy, just instruct the manager of
your retirement account to pay part or all of the account’s final balance to
the foundation.
