This assignment will be counted toward the quiz portion of your grade. I will not accept late submission for any reason. Purpose: Use the unit circle to graph the sine and cosine functions. You will need: 2 colors of spaghetti Glue Unit Circle page provided Coordinate Axis page provided Instructions: 1. Measure and mark with a pen or pencil on the Coordinate Axis each of the π π π π 2π 3π 5π 7π 5π , , , , , , , π, , , ...). Make your 6 4 3 2 3 4 6 6 4 measurements with respect the π marked on the provided coordinate axis basic angles ( page. 2. Choose one color of spaghetti for the sine (and another for the cosine). € 3. For each of the basic angles, measure and break a piece of spaghetti the € length of the sin θ (or cosθ ). Remember sin θ is the y-coordinate of the point where the angle θ intersects the unit circle (and cosθ is the xcoordinate). 4. Glue € the spaghetti to the coordinate axis at the corresponding θ (make sure € € that positive€ values of sin θ (or cosθ ) are measure above the θ -axis and € negative values below the θ -axis. 5. Repeat steps 2-4 for the cosθ . € 6. Make sure to € include a € key for which color of spaghetti € is sin θ and which is the cosθ . € 7. Make sure that your € work is neat, organized and legible. (Part of the grade will be given for presentation.) € 8. Make sure that you have included your Name and Class ID when you submit € your work.
