PROGRAM MODIFICATION FORM (4/15) Please attach/ submit additional documents as needed to fully complete each section of the form. I. DEPARTMENT / PROGRAM Applied Computing and Engineering Technology / Electronics Technology II. SUMMARY This proposal is to request the creation of a rubric, ROBT, for the newly proposed program, Robotics Technology. In the new Robotics Technology program, there are four new courses to be created: ROBT 120 Introduction to Robotics ROBT 150 3D Printing and Solid Works ROBT 255 Integration of Robotics Systems ROBT 299 Robotics Systems Project. A new prefix, ROBT, is necessary to indicate the nature of the subjects covered in the new courses and to distinguish from other courses. III. VI. JUSTIFICATION A new program, Robotics Technology, has been recently proposed as a program option of the existing Electronics Technology program at Missoula College of the University of Montana. (Please see the Level II Form for the Robotics Technology program.) This proposal is to request the creation of a rubric, ROBT, for the newly proposed program, Robotics Technology. In the newly proposed program, Robotics Technology, there are four new courses to be created: ROBT 120 Introduction to Robotics ROBT 150 3D Printing and Solid Works ROBT 255 Integration of Robotics Systems ROBT 299 Robotics Systems Project. All the four new courses are closely related to the interdisciplinary field of Robotics. The new prefix, ROBT, is necessary to indicate the nature of the subjects covered in the new courses and to distinguish from other courses. ROBT, a four-character prefix, is meaningful for the field represented and is in alignment with the Common Course Number (CCN) system of the Montana University System (MUS). The new Robotics Technology program is unique in the MUS. All the four ROBT courses are unique in the CNN system. All the four ROBT courses are STEM-oriented and can be shared with the schools, colleges, and departments/programs in the MUS. The prefix, ROBT, has also been used in other institutions in the USA for similar courses. VII. SUBMISSION After all signatures have been obtained, submit original, and an electronic file to the Faculty Senate Office, UH 221. An electronic copy of the original signed form is acceptable.
