i. Old system was not valuing interactions. Instead, people were
just checking things off.

b. Bylaws Review
i. Mission Statement Addition
1. Remove “seeks to provide” and rewrite to “provides”
2. See mission statement on website and in bylaws
3. Is this a good time to revise the name of the committee
to better describe what we do? (Paula)
a. Potentially add “allocation committee”
b. Create an abbreviation that is closer to SUFAC
c. “Academic Initiatives Differential Allocation
Committee”?
4. How do we go about the name change in Senate?
a. First resolution that expresses changing the
committee name in all places. Then second
resolution and supporting document with bylaw
changes.
5. Does AIOC carry weight as it is?
a. Not really. People don’t know what we do.
They don’t understand how important it is.
Creating more consistency with the other
budget committees.
ii. Revisit this next week to vote on mission statement and name
change next week.
