Looking ahead to the upcoming semester, AMA is pursuing several projects to increase our presence on campus and continue to give our members for real life experience. UW-La Crosse’s AMA chapter was able to send 23 AMA members to the regional conference in Whitewater on October 26, 2012. The theme of the conference was “Selling in a New Era”. During the conference and especially through the speakers, we were able to learn about some of the new and innovative methods different companies are using to market their products and services. One specific marketing idea that stood out was from a speaker from Target named Jeremy Frenz. Jeremy showed us an episode of a show created by Target which featured Target’s products in it. The products were then shown on the side of the screen with their price as they were seen within the show. This show was able to be viewed on Target’s website. This idea was one of the many innovative concepts presented at the conference. In addition to attending the National AMA conference, AMA has also prepared three competitive cases to enter at the national conference.
