Expected Graduation Date May 2017
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
 GPA: 3.29/4.0
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Spring 2015
American Institute for Chemical Engineers
Prairie View, TX
Chem-E-car design
 Designed a Chem-E-Car that accelerates by use of pressurized oxygen from the catalysis breakdown of
Hydrogen Peroxide with Copper.
 Tested various catalysts to determine the most efficient for producing a high quantity and high rate of
production of Oxygen gas.
 Performed calculations for pipe/tube fittings, reaction vessel sizing, gas production and water separation.
Summer 2014-Present
Prairie View A&M University
Prairie View, TX
Research Intern
 Studied journals and gathered data on the persistent and organic pollutant Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD)
to prove the significance of the research project.
 Investigated new synthesis routes for new and improved novel flame retardant materials that can be substituted
for HBCD.
 Substituted various side groups onto Bisphenol-A to later characterize and determine which will prove to be the
better flame retardant material.
 Successfully synthesized one of the many novel flame retardants and presented the work at the National Society
of Black chemist and Chemical engineers conference in Orlando, Florida (2015).
