A photo ID is required for any exam administered through the UWL Testing Center
There are 3 OPTIONS for taking the UW Placement Exams
1.
Regional Testing (freshmen or transfer students)
 REGISTRATION: The University of Wisconsin Center for Placement Testing registration site:
www.testing.wisc.edu/centerpages/regionaltesting.html opens around February 1 of each year. Choose the date and location most convenient for
you. Print out your selection for date and location of your test registration. To change your date, return to this registration site.
 DATES: Variety of dates from March through June. Register as soon as possible - especially if you need a specific date or test site, as some
dates and sites fill quickly. When selecting your test date, check with coaches, music directors, etc., and look at your high school and personal
calendars to ensure you have no conflicts.
UWL 2016 DATES: March 19, April 2, April 16, May 14, May 21, June 18 (Math: 8 AM, English: 10 AM, Foreign Language: 12 noon)
 LOCATION: 26 different locations around the state. UWL LOCATION: Centennial Hall
 FEE: A Placement Testing fee is added to your university tuition statement (whatever Wisconsin university you attend).
 SCORING: If attending UWL, score will be added to UWL WINGS account in 7-10 days. Check other universities for their policy.
 DELIVERY: Paper based tests are available for no additional fee. For an additional fee, there is a computer based option (see registration site).

Individual Testing (at UWL Testing Center scheduled at your convenience)
 REGISTRATION: Register online at REGISTER BLAST (registerblast.com/uwlax/exam) at least 72 hours in advance of the test. Choose
Proctored Correspondence Exams (Paper/Pencil). Upon successful registration, you will receive an email confirmation. IMPORTANT: If you do
not receive an email confirmation, there may be a problem with your registration, such as you did not enter a valid email address, or it could be
blocked by your spam blocker. Check your spam folder and if this is not the problem, contact our Testing Center.
 DATES: Individual appointments are available by appointment M- F at 9 AM, 11 AM, & 2:00 PM.
 LOCATION: 2106 Centennial Hall on the UWL campus.
 FEE: A Placement Testing fee is added to your university bill first semester. There is an additional administrative fee ($33.50 per test) associated
with this individual appointment option. Payment options include VISA, MasterCard, or electronic check. All online registrations are final and no
refunds will be given.
 SCORING: This option includes immediate hand scoring and entry of scores into your WINGS record.
 DELIVERY: Paper based tests
 RESCHEDULING: If you contact our Testing Center in writing at least 24 hours before your scheduled exam, we will reschedule your exam once
with no rescheduling fee.
 You will receive an email reminder two days before your scheduled test date.
 Print your confirmation receipt and bring it with you on your test date.

Local/Residual Testing (admitted/currently enrolled UWL Students ONLY).
 REGISTRATION: Register online at REGISTER BLAST (registerblast.com/uwlax/exam). When dates have been set, you will see a UW
Placement Exam option on the Register Blast site. If you don't see this option, dates have not been set. Check back. You must register at least
72 hours in advance of the test.
 DATES: several test dates per year (see registration). Times: Math: 4 PM, English - 6 PM, Foreign Language: 8 PM
 LOCATION: 1309/1400 Centennial Hall (look for signs).
 FEE: A Placement Testing fee is added to your university bill. There is no additional fee for this option.
 SCORING: Test Scores generally take from 7 - 10 days to appear in your WINGS record.
 DELIVERY: Paper based tests
 RETAKING MATH TEST: at check-in, student must self disclose they are retaking the Math Test to receive the alternate form of the test.
RETAKING THE UW PLACEMENT EXAMS
 English and Foreign Language Tests allow re-testing only with department approval.
 The rules on retaking the UW Math Test vary from campus to campus. Some allow it, some do not, and some require written permission from the
department. The rules for retaking the Math Test at UWL are that the most recent score counts and the student:
o may repeat the Math Test once and must wait 30 days between initial exam and retest
o must take it on the UW - La Crosse campus
o must take an alternate form of the exam
