Submission of Extended Abstracts
The Organizing Committee of the Workshop invites extended abstracts of papers for
consideration of being included in the technical program of the Workshop. The
extended abstract should be 1,000-1,500 words in length in English, the official
conference language. The digital form in Microsoft Word or Word perfect is required.
It is expected that selected papers from this Workshop will then be refereed for
publication in an edited book.
Important Dates
Deadline for submission of abstracts April 15, 1999
Notification of acceptance May 15, 1999
Deadline for final manuscripts July 15, 1999=20

Post workshop tours to Xi'an, Guilin and so on will be organized if there are sufficient
number of participants interested in it.
About Beijing
As one of the cities with the longest history in the world, Beijing is extremely rich in
characters that attract visitors with all kinds of interest. It is not hard to fill a long list
of big names of attractions such as the Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, the Forbidden
City, the Summer Palace, and Temple of Heaven, plus colorful and relaxed lifestyle
such as famous the Peking Opera, Chinese fine art and hand craft, and the art of
Chinese cooking.
October is the best season in Beijing where there are various flowers and majestic
scenery. The weather is sunny with warm days and cool evening. October 1, 1999
marks the 50th anniversary of establishment of the People's Republic of China, when
Beijing will be in a grand festival mood with a lot of activities. We especially select
the conference schedule during the National Day celebration to give our friends an
unforgettable experience in Beijing.
