• Students in Track 3 or Track 4 must maintain final grades of B (83%) or better to remain in those tracks.
• Students in all math courses should maintain final grades of C- (70%) or better to advance to the next course. Exceptions would only be
made with the agreement of teachers and administrators in the school.
• Movement between tracks at the junior high and high school level is based on individual results from end-of-course, CECA, and chapter
tests, student motivation/performance, and parent consultation.
• At the junior high, students can take Geometry and Algebra 2 in one year to move into a faster track.
• At the high school, students can take two courses in one year to move into a faster track. Suggested combinations would be Precalculus
and College Statistics or College Statistics and College Calculus.
Math 5 Accelerated (as taught in grade 5) COMBINES Math 5 and Math 6 Idaho Core Standards. It is a fast-paced,
rigorous course; students are expected to work more independently and will have a greater time commitment which
would involve attendance and homework.
Basic Math 7, Basic Math 8 and Basic Algebra will cover the Idaho Core standards at a modified/ slower pace.
Math 7 & Math 8 covers Idaho Core standards at what the state has determined to be grade level.
Math 7 Accelerated (as taught in grades 6 and 7) COMBINES Math 7 and Math 8 Idaho Core Standards. It is a fast-paced,
rigorous course; students are expected to work more independently and will have a greater time commitment which
would involve attendance and homework.
