LONDON INTERNSHIPS
for UWSP students
of applied physics, arts management, business,
communication, english, interior architecture, graphic design,
history, international studies, sociology, political science, theater
& health promotion/wellness, and more….
students of other majors should check with their respective department
chairs or the international programs office as internships may be
available for them too.
APPROXIMATE SUMMER DATES: JUNE 5-AUGUST 15 agencies ~ etc. …..~
COST INCLUDES:
: 10-Week Academic/Internship Program.
: International Airfare, Chicago-London-Chicago.
: Internship placement, orientation, supervision. Expect to work up to 24 hours per week.
During the summer you will also take an International Studies 3-credit course on British Life & Culture
which will meet two days a week
: Room and board in central London.
: UW-SP full-time tuition for Wisconsin Residents; Minnesota students qualify for reciprocity. Surcharge for
other out-of staters is $750.
: UW-System mandatory health/travel insurance
: Plan your budget to cover, passport, visa, personal expenses such as local transportation in London.

Coordinator as listed above. Generally 6 internship credits are available.
STUDENTS ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SEMESTER IN BRITAIN’s EUROPEAN
UNION CONTINENTAL STUDY TOUR. For summer interns this runs immediately following the
completion of your internship. The 2-3 week study-tour will focus on European Union development;
stops may include Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Baden-Baden and Trier in Germany, Strasbourg, Metz and Colmar
in France, Luxembourg and Brussels in Belgium. Accommodations in hotels and youth hostels; travel by
train and bus.

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point provides extraordinary study programs to those
wishing an education beyond the bounds of the classroom or campus. Since 1969, UWSP’s
Britain programs have allowed students to experience Europe, Britain, and especially
London -- now we add to this special opportunity for eligible students to do their
externship/internship abroad.
ELIGIBILITY &:
APPLICATION
PROCESS:
~Applicable majors and minors should apply (see credits offered on reverse side).
~Minimum GPA of 2.75 to apply.
~A London Internship application packet is available in the
International Programs Office, Room 108 Collins Classroom Center.
~Permission required from your major/department Britain Internship Coordinator.
Coordinator’s signature is required on the Internship application form.
~Students will be asked to attend a Pre-Acceptance meeting and
schedule a final interview. Attendance at orientation meetings and the Departure
Workshop is strongly recommended.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 15, for guaranteed consideration.
DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS: A payment schedule will be sent with your acceptance letter. Withdrawal
up to ten weeks before the start of the program all fees except the initial deposit may be refunded. After
that time, airline, intern placement fee (approx. $1200) and housing cancellation charges may be assessed. If
the program would be canceled, all fees will be refunded
