An academic resource coordinator (ARC) is a UW-Stevens Point student who helps incoming first-year and transfer students make the transition to UW-Stevens Point. There are at least two ARCs in each residence hall. ARCs are not tutors. They are students like you. They know what it’s like being a first year student at UW-Stevens Point and can share their experiences with you. Mission The ARC to Success program focuses on encouraging a successful transition to the university environment by promoting and utilizing existing academic support. Program The ARC to Success program is a series of biweekly meetings during the first semester. Program participants are paired with an Academic Resource Coordinator (ARC) to discuss • • • • • • • • goals, study habits, learning styles, time management test-taking skills, oncampus resources, the university registration process and transitions from high school to college.
