Annual Conference

Peacemaking: The Challenge of the Other

Sponsored by Cardinal Stritch University Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy

and Department of History and Political Science

Friday and Saturday, October 21-22, 2011

Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Many national and international conflicts today involve populations that are diverse ethnically, religiously, or due to differing regional interests. The “other” has become the enemy. This conference proposes to explore not only the conflicts resulting from these diversities, but also the possibilities of dialogue leading to peaceful coexistence. Hence, the word “challenges.” The conference will open with a panel discussion Friday evening. The Saturday sessions will include over a dozen paper presentations.
