April 7, 2014 Parent Opinion Survey Kennedy Elementary School (220 Surveys) The purpose of this survey is to provide parents an opportunity to express their opinion concerning Kennedy Elementary School’s current ability to meet the students’ needs—and their parents’ expectations. Parental concerns are adequately reflected in decisions affecting the school. Teachers regularly communicate with students’ parents. Students are given a sufficient amount of homework to help them succeed in their studies. Reports concerning students’ progress (report cards, progress reports, Power School, etc.) are adequate. It is easy to get an appointment to meet with a teacher. It is easy to get an appointment with an administrator. Parents feel welcome at the school. Music The educational program offered to students at this school is of high quality. Teachers have high expectations for student learning. Students are encouraged to do their best. I am satisfied with the way students are treated by teachers. I am satisfied with the way students are treated by administrators. I am satisfied with the way students are treated by staff (secretaries, librarians, paraprofessionals, custodians, cafeteria workers, etc.). The school’s programs meet the needs of students with learning disabilities. The school’s programs meet the needs of gifted/talented students. Classroom rules and regulations affecting students are reasonable. Teachers and administrators enforce school rules consistently. The school’s grading policies and practices are administered fairly. Students show respect for one another. The school provides a clean, orderly, and positive environment for learning.
