TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 First day of classes for fall 2016 departure date final exam study hours Final exam quiet hours (24-hour quiet hours) begin Friday, May 13, 11:59 p.m. and continue throughout the final exam period. Final exams have a tendency to create higher anxiety levels so study hard, get adequate rest and be sure to consider your neighbors’ needs (e.g., keep your stereo at a minimal volume or use headphones). Final exam study hours violations will result in disciplinary action. “Relaxed hours” are in effect daily from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. These are flexible hours that allow room doors to be left open, vacuuming, music at a reasonable level and normal levels of conversation. Activities that are prohibited during relaxed hours include, but are not limited to: stereos and televisions in excess volume and yelling. Whenever possible, move-outs should occur during these time periods. Bunks and lofts should be dismantled either before 11:59 p.m., May 13 or during relaxed hours. Dismantling can be a noisy process not easily accommodated during quiet times. summer housing Staying in Stevens Point for the summer and need housing? Residential Living does provide housing in the summer on a weekly (Sunday-Saturday) basis. For summer 2016, the summer hall is located in the Suites@201. Applications are available in the Residential Living Office, 601 Division Street Building, and online (www.uwsp.edu/ resliving/pdfs/contract1530.pdf). The Suites@201 will be deep-cleaned this summer. This means that you may have to move at least once during the summer (deep-cleaning will be completed a floor at a time. Please see the summer contract for additional information). If you live in the Suites@201 this spring and want to extend your stay by a week or so, you can apply for summer housing for just the weeks you need. To ensure that you can stay in your spring room, you will need to submit your summer housing application by May 3. If you will be living in the Suites@201 next fall and want to arrive slightly earlier than the opening day, you can reserve weeks in advance of that date (September 4). Again, to ensure being assigned to your fall room, you must submit your summer housing application by May 3. Your housing contract requires you to be properly checked out of your room not later than 24 hours after your last final exam. If you have a final on Friday, May 20, you have until 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 to depart. This is the final all-hall closing time. If you are participating in commencement, you must contact your hall director by Sunday, May 8, to make arrangements for an alternative checkout time on Saturday. If you do not complete checkout by the stated time, you will be charged a late checkout charge of $25/15 minutes late — or portion thereof.
