Summary of Responsibilities, Expectations, Learning Experience:
Details of Project: Horsepower is in its 19 th
year of providing therapeutic riding for people with disabilities. We rely heavily on volunteers for all aspects of our program. We have two full time and eight part time paid staff and 300+ volunteers. The project would include evaluating our current income base including foundation, corporate and individual giving. Evaluate our fundraising projects and our income fee from client services. Research and develop new funding through every avenue. Help with assessing the program needs and develop a plan for continued growth at our new facility.
Learning Experience: will include opportunities to understand industry and company business; gain access to leadership for shadowing and mentoring; developing and marketing events; and the opportunity to gain additional experience through other assigned projects.
Expectations: This is a part time or full time internship, ranging between 20-40 hours per week for the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semester.
Qualifications (Experience, Competencies, Skills, Education)
Must be currently enrolled in a UNCG program with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Computer skills a must, research and analysis, excellent organizational and writing skills. Nonprofit work experience would be helpful. Must be good working with people.
