For detailed information, please see reverse side. As soon as possible Submit required $100 enrollment deposit (see enclosures) or deposit at www.uwsp.edu/admissions. Requires your UWStevens Point student ID number found on your admittance letter. 3-4 weeks after you are admitted (beginning mid-November) Receive your housing information and contract. As soon as possible Complete the housing and food service contract and return to Residential Living with $125 housing prepayment. After January 1 To apply for financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Our code is: 003924. As soon as possible Complete UW-Stevens Point scholarship application at www. uwsp.edu/admissions to be considered for scholarships. Priority given to students who apply prior to January 15. Beginning February 1 Sign up for placement tests at http://testing.wisc.edu for a site near you. Note: You should plan to take the placement tests at least 2 weeks prior to your summer orientation session. March 5 Admitted Student day. Save the Date. More information to follow via email and postal mail. March/April Sign up for summer orientation at www.uwsp.edu/ orientation. Note: You must submit your $100 enrollment deposit prior to registering for orientation. April Minnesota residents should apply for reciprocity at www.ohe.state.mn.us. Late May/early June Arrange for final high school transcript, AP/IB test scores and official transcripts of any college courses to be sent to the Admissions Office. June Attend Summer Orientation, register for classes and learn more about becoming a student at UW-Stevens Point. Specific orientation dates available at www.uwsp.edu/orientation. 24 hours after attending orientation Activate your UW-Stevens Point “myPoint” network login and email account. Late July Receive information from Residential Living about your room assignment and roommate. (Sent to your UW-Stevens Point email Account) Mid-August Receive your tuition/housing bill. Note: All bills are sent electronically to students through their UW-Stevens Point email account and are available on their “my Point” account. *Late August, Date TBA New students move into residence halls. *Late August – September 5 Welcome week activities. *September 6 Classes begin. Carefully read the enclosed information sheet regarding the deposit. THIS $100 ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT IS SEPARATE FROM YOUR HOUSING PREPAYMENT. If you decide not to enroll at UW-Stevens Point after submitting the deposit, you will need to cancel your admission in writing to the Admissions Office before May 1, 2016 to receive a refund. UW-Stevens Point ID number Your UW-Stevens Point ID number is printed on your letter of admission. It is important you keep a copy of your admission letter so you can provide your ID number when needed on other enrollment materials. Financial aid To be considered for financial aid, simply complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. UW-Stevens Point’s FAFSA code is 003924. You should complete the FAFSA only after you have completed your federal income tax return. In March, the UW-Stevens Point Financial Aid Office will begin responding to aid applicants at the email address listed on their FAFSA. Students are required to live in residence halls their first two years after high school. Exceptions are generally made for students who are married, veterans, 21 years of age or older, have dependent children, or live with their parents (within a 40-mile radius of Stevens Point). Minnesota residents Minnesota residents may be eligible to pay the established reciprocity tuition fee at UW-Stevens Point. You may apply for reciprocity on the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE) website: www.ohe.state.mn.us. Additional questions may be addressed to the Minnesota OHE at 1-800-657-3866. Placement testing For information about our summer and winterim sessions, go to www.uwsp.edu/regrec. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Institution. You are also required to take the foreign language placement exam if you have previous knowledge of French, German or Spanish languages. Beginning February 1, you may register online at www. testing.wisc.edu to take the placement tests at one of more than 20 regional sites in Wisconsin during the spring. We will also send placement testing information beginning in February to students who have submitted the $100 enrollment deposit. Orientation All first-year students are required to attend an orientation session. Advising and class registration will be done at these sessions, which are held in June. In March, orientation sign up instructions will be sent to all first-year students who have paid the $100 enrollment deposit. We recommend you sign up for a session as early as possible.
